Requirements

  • Obtain and maintain a Life & Health insurance license, as required by the State Department of Insurance.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to learn appropriate insurance company and firm software systems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to persuade, motivate, and influence others.

Responsibilities

  • Grow own book of business, including generating, prospecting, soliciting, and closing new accounts.
  • Retain existing clients.
  • Identify and generate new sales opportunities through analysis and discovery.
  • Participate in sales meetings to review sales activities and prospective customers with leadership.
  • Develop a full working knowledge of respective insurance line products and procedures.
  • Learn to present proposals in a professional manner, reviewing coverages in detail to ensure understanding.
  • Maintain an understanding and knowledge of insurance industry and underwriting criteria for Insurance Company Partners represented by the firm.
