Requirements
Valid ServSafe Food Safety Certification (required and must be maintained in good standing)
May require yearly certification for a forklift license
In Florida, must obtain a qualifier certification through the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for retail propane oversight (BJ’s covers applicable costs and training)
At least 18 years old (for 401(k) eligibility, implying general applicability)

Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direction within the club and drive club performance, particularly for directly managed departments (preparing for Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience tracks)
Ensure consistent execution of policies and procedures
Ensure a positive member service experience
Maintain Grand Opening Look Daily (GOLD) standard club conditions
Lead audit compliance efforts
Drive collaboration with Business Partners (BPs)
Oversee onboarding, certification, and training to ensure food safety and operational excellence
Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed, taking full responsibility for club operations, team leadership, and member engagement during assigned shifts
Develop talent and teams by fostering a culture of growth through collaboration, coaching, empowerment, and creating opportunities for success
Teach, coach, and lead team members through training, feedback, and on-the-job coaching
Drive a values-based culture promoting strategic thinking, ethical decision-making, and inclusion
