Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in user operations, technical support, or support engineering roles, ideally in tech startups or fast-paced environments
  • Fluency in both Japanese and English (spoken and written) to support customers in local and global markets and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to comprehend and communicate complex technical issues
  • Ability to proactively identify pain points in our and our customer’s solutions
  • Proven experience building strong relationships with customers and cross-functionally to drive resolution to complex issues
  • Humble attitude, eagerness to help others, and desire to acquire missing knowledge to ensure team and customer success
  • Ability to operate with high energy, frequent context switching, work on multiple projects with expansive ownership, and ruthlessly prioritize

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with customers via support tickets and Slack messages, solving their most complex problems and providing ownership and education on the use of OpenAI platforms
  • Serve as one of the foremost experts on OpenAI products, acting as the last line of defense before core Product and Engineering teams
  • Partner with engineering and customer teams to resolve issues, engaging with senior leaders internally or with customers as needed
  • Take learnings from resolving customer issues to inform scaling solutions, partnering with Engineering and Go-To-Market teams
  • Foster a supportive and productive work culture within the User Operations team
  • Provide support coverage during on-call shifts, holidays, and weekends based on business needs
