Accountant and Bookkeeper (Remote VA)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Accountant and Bookkeeper to join our Remote VA team. In this dual-role position, you will manage financial records, oversee accounting processes, and ensure accurate bookkeeping for our clients. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
• Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
• Handle month-end and year-end closing procedures to ensure timely reporting.
• Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements and credit card accounts.
• Assist clients with budgeting and forecasting by analyzing financial data.
• Provide tax preparation support and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding their financial status and any discrepancies that may arise.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting and bookkeeping experience.
• Proficient in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks Online.
• Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with clients.
• Experienced in payroll processing and basic tax regulations.
• Ability to work independently in a remote work setting.
