AP Specialist

Position Overview

Platform Science is seeking an AP Specialist to join our growing team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to advance your Accounts Payable (AP) career while also gaining broader accounting experience. The position involves transactional AP work, cross-functional collaboration, and accounting tasks such as bookkeeping and account reconciliations. This is a remote position reporting to an Accounting Manager.

Essential Responsibilities

• Invoice Processing: Receive, process, and verify vendor invoices. This includes obtaining proper approvals according to the company's approved matrix and entering invoices into Netsuite with correct account and cost center information.
• Payment Processing: Prepare and process vendor payments, including check requests and electronic payments. Review proposed weekly payments with Treasury to ensure funding availability. Process payments on time to avoid late fees and interest. Prioritize early payment discounts when feasible.
• Account Reconciliations: Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies. This may involve liaising with internal departments and vendor contacts.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions. Reach out to internal departments and vendors for missing invoices to ensure timely entry and payment. Ensure all documentation (invoice, approvals, etc.) is included in Netsuite.
• Communication: Interact with vendors and internal departments to address invoice and payment inquiries.
• Reporting and Month-End: Assist with the monthly accounts payable accrual to ensure all incurred expenses are recorded in the correct period.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field.
• Working experience with NetSuite is preferred.
• Working experience with a Bank disbursement portal is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with cross-functional collaboration is preferred.
• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.

Compensation

• Estimated Hourly Rate: $24.00 - $34.00

Actual compensation is determined by various factors including skill set, work experience, relevant trainings and certifications, business needs, market demands, and specific geographical location. The base pay range is subject to change.
