Position Overview

Planet designs, builds, and operates the largest constellation of imaging satellites in history, delivering an unprecedented dataset of empirical information via a revolutionary cloud-based platform. We are seeking a talented and energetic Account Executive (AE) to join our growing sales team. The AE will be responsible for prospecting and closing new Defense and Intelligence business within the Middle East and Northern Africa (MENA) Region. This role involves identifying, nurturing, and closing opportunities with both new and existing customers, managing forecasts, and tracking customer data. You will work cooperatively with internal departments to improve business velocity and create solutions that serve our customers' best interests.


Responsibilities

  • Prospect, develop, and close a continuous pipeline of opportunities within the Defense and Intelligence sectors in the MENA region.
  • Maintain accurate account and opportunity information in Salesforce.com.
  • Forecast business and sales pipeline as required by management.
  • Identify and pursue up-sell and cross-sell opportunities, and probe for additional contacts and projects.
  • Achieve and surpass all stated sales goals for the position.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to conduct seminars, assist with trade shows, and participate in other marketing-related events.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in closing sales.
  • Relevant experience in the Defense and/or Intelligence industry.
  • Experience coordinating small to medium transactions.
  • Experience working within a quota and commission structure.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic.
  • Experience using Salesforce.com.
  • Proven track record of overachieving sales goals.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with a results-oriented approach.
  • Bachelor’s degree.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Understanding of ISR, GEOINT, remote sensing, or airborne imaging.
  • Previous vertical selling experience to defense or national security-focused ministries or agencies.
  • Experience overachieving quota in a B2B or B2C sales company.
  • Experience with AI/ML/CV analytic services for the Defense and Intelligence industry.
  • MENA account management experience with an established network.
  • Experience attending industry conferences such as IDEX, World Defense Show, DIMDEX, etc.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, and email automation tools.
