This role reports to the Vice President of Growth and involves close collaboration with Engineering, Technology, Legal, and Finance departments. The manager will be responsible for engaging the DoD customer community, developing strategic plans, and acting as a capture manager to lead new opportunities.

Requirements

  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of professional experience in the aerospace/defense industry.
    • 5+ years of experience specifically in Business Development.
  • Clearance: Top Security Clearance (DoD TS clearance required).
  • Skills:
    • Proven ability to create and execute plans with clear ownership and minimal supervision.
    • Experience supporting or leading USG captures and proposals.
    • Demonstrated success in capturing space business within the DoD/Intelligence Community (IC).
    • A continuous learner, comfortable leading through uncertainty and taking initiative.
    • Strong emotional intelligence and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
    • Willingness to travel up to 35% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Growth and Strategy:
    • Drive both near-term and long-term business growth for Muon Space within the DoD sector.
  • Customer Engagement and Capture:
    • Lead customer engagement, pipeline development, and capture efforts.
    • Identify new opportunities and manage their progression through the pipeline stages.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Provide thought leadership to develop and synthesize cohesive strategies for target organizations.
  • Proposal Management:
    • Create, maintain, and implement customer engagement plans.
    • Lead proposal and RFI responses, including:
      • Developing win themes.
      • Collaborating with engineering on technical solutions.
      • Developing Price to Win strategies.
      • Writing proposal content and conducting overall reviews.
  • Opportunity Management:
    • Utilize Muon Space’s tools and processes for tracking and managing opportunities.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other Business Development personnel and engineering teams on opportunities.
    • Liaise with Legal and Finance departments on opportunities.
  • Product Input:
    • Provide customer feedback to inform the product technology roadmap.
  • Other Duties:
    • Perform all other duties as assigned.
