Requirements

A 4-year degree is preferred, or a High School Diploma (or GED) with equivalent experience. Candidates must have 10 years of operations experience, including various job functions in distribution management, and a minimum of 5 years of management experience. Required knowledge includes D.O.T. regulations, labor relations, selection/interviewing/recruiting, customer service, budgeting and cost control, OSHA, HAACP, and other regulations, along with PC skills.

Responsibilities

The VP of Operations will direct and oversee overall operations and site management of Distribution Centers, negotiating and administering collective bargaining agreements. They will implement procedures for safe, efficient, service-oriented, and profitable departments, establishing long-term operations objectives aligned with business goals and developing strategic plans. Responsibilities include integrating shipping, receiving, transportation, purchasing, and sales activities, maintaining profitable operations through cost control, and implementing programs for safety, security, maintenance, and ergonomics. The role involves guiding management in compliance with government regulations and company programs, delegating responsibilities, enforcing company policies, and creating performance improvement plans. Additionally, the VP will participate in networking opportunities to share best practices and negotiate collective bargaining agreements in union facilities.
