Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a Master’s degree preferred. They must have a minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a nonprofit or healthcare organization. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and nonprofit accounting standards is essential, along with experience navigating complex regulatory environments, particularly Uniform Guidance and healthcare-specific reporting requirements.
The Vice President, Corporate Controller will oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, treasury, and grants accounting. They will directly manage the production of accurate and timely financial statements, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, develop and implement internal controls, serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, and provide strategic financial insights to support executive decision-making and programmatic growth. Furthermore, the role involves collaborating with senior leadership, participating in Board meetings, mentoring the accounting team, and evaluating departmental structure for scalability.
