Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in a U.S. state, along with at least 4-5 years of experience in privacy, compliance, or tech law, with a preference for candidates with SaaS experience. A deep understanding of U.S. and international data privacy frameworks, including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and OFAC, is required, as is experience working cross-functionally in a fast-paced SaaS or tech environment. Strong organizational and contract negotiation skills are also necessary, along with familiarity with legal and workflow tools like Salesforce, Slack, and Linksquares.

Responsibilities

As the Counsel, Privacy and Compliance, the individual will draft, review, and negotiate Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), Security Addendums, and Supplier Security & Privacy Assessments (SSPAs), manage internal and external-facing privacy documentation such as privacy policies, terms of service, and subprocessor notices, advise internal stakeholders on legal obligations, risks, and best practices, coordinate with the Security team on incident response readiness and compliance protocols, maintain and evolve the legal compliance playbook and internal policy governance process, support internal audits and workflows using tools like Salesforce, Slack, and Linksquares, own internal legal training and education materials used across departments, and conduct legal research and support due diligence and integration work for M&A.
