Who we are at Osmo:

Osmo is a digital olfaction company on a mission to give computers a sense of smell to improve the health and wellbeing of human life. Our sense of smell both enriches and saves lives, and has a deep and direct connection to our emotions and memory. This foundational understanding of smell's impact has directly informed the development of our latest innovation: Generation.

Generation is a new kind of fragrance house powered by Olfactory Intelligence (OI) to blend AI with world-class perfumery. It will help brands create emotionally resonant scents faster, more accessibly, and with greater creative clarity. Our technology allows us to explore vast scent possibilities, discover novel ingredients, and design fragrances informed by both data and artistry.

Beyond fragrance, Olfactory Intelligence has applications across industries including manufacturing, security, medicine, and more. We believe in the power of automation and thoughtfully applied AI/ML to solve problems beyond the reach of human intuition alone.

Osmo is headquartered in New York, NY, with a new facility in New Jersey, and offices in Somerville, MA.

Position Overview:

Osmo is seeking a UX/UI Designer with a strong foundation in UI and visual design. • Translate broad, conceptual product ideas into functional, scalable UI designs ready for front-end implementation.
  • Work across all stages of the design process, including workflow and systems mapping, ideation, concept development, validation, final visual design, and implementation support.
  • Create thoughtful end-to-end user experiences that simplify underlying complexity.
  • Deliver pixel-perfect UI designs that ensure smooth handoff and implementation by engineering teams.
  • Conduct usability testing and iterate on designs based on user feedback.
  • Champion user needs by designing intuitive and delightful digital experiences, even for routine or complex workflows.
  • Ensure all product design assets align with Osmo's brand guidelines and design system.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Design with 6–8 years of experience in UX/UI.
  • Top-level visual design expertise, including typography, layout design, color theories, and interaction design.
  • Proficiency in design software including Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, and the ability to maintain clean and organized files.
  • Comfortable with independent and autonomous work delivering high-fidelity, production-ready UI.

Ways to Stand Out:

  • Mastery of Figma's advanced features, such as Auto Layout, Variables, DevMode, and Responsive Prototypes.
  • Animation skills (Adobe After Effects + LottieFiles).
  • Ability to read HTML/CSS code.

Benefits:

  • Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and more.

Osmo sells starter kits, expansion packs, and individual games that cover subjects like math, spelling, coding, and creativity, along with subscription services for additional content. Revenue comes from direct sales on their website and partnerships with retailers and educational institutions. Osmo also fosters a community through the Osmo Social Club, which helps build brand loyalty and expand its reach.
