Staff Product Designer - Firefox Mobile

Position Overview

Mozilla Corporation, a non-profit-backed technology company dedicated to shaping a better internet, is seeking a Staff Product Designer to lead UX efforts for Firefox on Android and iOS. This role focuses on delivering best-in-class native experiences, with a strong emphasis on Android. You will leverage your deep knowledge of platform-specific design patterns to craft intuitive, high-quality mobile interfaces, raising the bar for visual and interaction design across platforms. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to advocate for user needs and align with Mozilla's mission of privacy and user empowerment.

The Firefox UX team is committed to keeping the internet open and accessible for all. As a corporation wholly owned by a non-profit, Mozilla prioritizes its mission to advance a healthy internet and puts people first in all endeavors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead UX efforts for major initiatives in Firefox Mobile, with a strong focus on visual craft and interaction design.
  • Translate user needs and business goals into polished, intuitive experiences that feel native and high-quality on every touchpoint.
  • Design and prototype intuitive, accessible, and visually compelling mobile experiences that support Firefox’s core values of privacy, security, and performance.
  • Create design storyboards, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to communicate intent and for conducting qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and research teams to align design decisions with business objectives, technical feasibility, and user needs.
  • Advocate for mobile-first UX best practices, ensuring high usability across different devices and screen sizes.
  • Contribute to and evolve the Design System, ensuring consistency and usability across mobile platforms.
  • Support product strategy from concept to completion for critical user journeys and finding opportunities.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in UX design.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing mobile-first design work.
  • Deep expertise in native design languages, with a strong focus on Android and complementary experience in iOS.
  • Well-versed in platform-specific patterns, guidelines, and best practices to deliver intuitive, high-quality mobile experiences.
  • Strong ability to balance user needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility in design decisions.
  • Experience designing for privacy, security, and accessibility in mobile applications.
  • Proficiency with Figma.
  • Highly collaborative.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable presenting design work and rationale.
