Candidates must have 8+ years of experience as a UX designer/engineer or in a related position collaborating with digital product teams, with an enterprise environment being a plus. A Bachelor's degree requires at least 4 years of experience, while other degrees like Associate's or Master's will also be considered. Familiarity with AI-powered IDEs and a strong understanding of the Human-Centered Design (HCD) process and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) are expected.
The UX Designer/Engineer will create design artifacts across the full fidelity range, from sketches to prototypes, utilizing AI tools for iteration and code generation. They will implement the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) and reusable design patterns, ensuring all designs and code meet Section 508 and WCAG accessibility standards. Responsibilities also include using AI tools for code analysis, feature generation, testing, and debugging, while reviewing all outputs for quality. The role involves building accessible frontend components with industry-standard languages and frameworks, writing and maintaining automated tests, and contributing to accessible, performant, and scalable frontend applications within an Agile team. Collaboration through pair programming, peer reviews, and post-mortems is essential, as is partnering with product managers and technical leads to ensure design intent is met and engaging with stakeholders for alignment.
