Key Account Manager - Infectious Diseases (Scotland)

Position Overview

Abbott Rapid Diagnostics (ARDx) is seeking a dynamic Key Account Manager to join their Infectious Diseases Division, focusing on the Scotland territory. This role is crucial for driving the adoption of Point of Care (POC) testing for infectious diseases within secondary care settings and identifying strategic opportunities within emerging Clinical Diagnostic Centres (CDCs) and community healthcare. The successful candidate will manage and influence a diverse range of stakeholders across the NHS, Public Health, and Local Authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop markets and customers to achieve sales targets.
  • Provide excellent customer service and manage key accounts effectively.
  • Lead and participate in projects, demonstrating strong business acumen to exceed financial and strategic objectives.
  • Implement national strategies for new and existing products and services, including mapping and building stakeholder relationships.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with all stakeholders within key accounts.
  • Participate in sales and marketing meetings.
  • Understand sales strategies and translate UK marketing campaigns to a regional level.
  • Articulate issues and business opportunities to customers to secure long-term strategic business.
  • Maintain and communicate a strategic landscape view of the region to Commercial and Marketing Teams.

Requirements

  • Excellent track record in sales with strong business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Significant industry experience in medical devices or diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic industry practices is preferable.
  • Thorough knowledge of the UK healthcare industry and the NHS.
  • Proficiency in building compelling business cases.
  • Experience in informal coaching and leadership of stakeholders.
  • IT Skills: MS Word, MS Excel (intermediate), MS PowerPoint, CRM systems (Salesforce), Power BI.
