Candidates require at least one year of administrative support experience, one year of healthcare experience, and one year of telephonic customer service experience. A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is necessary. The role requires availability Monday-Friday 8am-5pm EST, with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate. Preferred qualifications include bilingual English/Spanish proficiency, experience with documentation programs, the CarePlus Platform, medical terminology, ICD-10 codes, member service, and utilization review or prior authorization within a managed care organization.
The UM Administration Coordinator will provide non-clinical support for policies and procedures to ensure optimal member treatment and care. They will receive calls from providers, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and other vendors, and support UM Nurses in processing discharge orders and arranging safe facility discharges. The coordinator will also collaborate with UM Nurses, Pharmacy, Medical Directors, and other departments, and make outbound calls to these entities during downtime. Key duties include documenting all calls and requests, researching Medicare and Medicaid guidelines, processing incoming faxes and emails for services the same day, and returning voicemails received the same day. Additionally, they will process and mail provider and member letters, assist the team with clerical/administrative tasks, and participate in special projects as assigned.
