Candidates should possess a strong data warehouse and data-serving platform background with recent experience using SQL, including complex workloads. A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in technical content training development and delivery is required, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Prior experience with other databases such as Oracle, IBM Netezza, or Teradata is preferred, as is a degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems. The role also requires an innovative and assertive attitude, high energy, confidence, professionalism, and the ability to pick up new technologies quickly. Experience delivering results in a dynamic start-up environment and working cross-functionally is also desired. Bonus points are awarded for experience creating and delivering training programs to mass audiences and experience with other databases like Teradata, Netezza, Oracle, or Redshift.
The Technical Instructor will create and deliver compelling education content and training sets for instructor-led classroom venues, making complex concepts understandable. This role involves transferring knowledge of Snowflake to customers, partners, and internal teams to accelerate their technical onboarding. Responsibilities include cross-training efforts, program management, and strategically ramping up multiple resources within external stakeholders. The instructor will teach technical courses covering Snowflake data warehousing concepts, SQL capabilities, data consumption, integration, security, performance, and cloud ecosystem topics. They will also apply database and data warehousing expertise during training sessions, deliver content using various presentation formats, and work with customers and partners on train-the-trainer programs. Additionally, the instructor will collaborate with education content developers to prioritize, create, and publish training materials, drive continuous improvement of training performance, and work with subject-matter-experts to create new educational materials and updates.
