Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with a Master’s degree preferred. They must have at least 8 years of experience in managing data platforms, ideally in a cloud-based environment with a focus on GCP and data warehousing, and at least 5 years of experience in Data Warehousing and Information Management, including 2 years of people management experience. Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and relevant certifications, such as the Google Professional Data Engineer, is highly advantageous. Strong knowledge of ETL processes, data integration, and automation, along with expertise in data warehouse technologies like BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift, is required. Furthermore, candidates should demonstrate strong leadership and team management skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, a data-driven decision-making approach, and a thorough understanding of data governance, security, and compliance requirements. Familiarity with scripting and programming languages like SQL and Python is also necessary.
As an IT Manager, Data Platform Engineering, the individual will oversee the design, development, and management of the company’s data platforms, ensuring data accessibility, security, and governance. They will develop and execute strategies for data utilization, storage, and accessibility within the GCP environment. The role involves overseeing the design, deployment, and maintenance of the data warehouse, ensuring optimal performance and scalability, as well as the deployment and monitoring of AI/ML models. They will track model performance, iterate for improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions. Additionally, they will lead and manage a team of data engineers and analysts, providing guidance and support, and staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in GCP, data warehousing, and cloud services.
