About the Role

CrowdStrike is hiring an experienced Engineer for the Data Services team to advance its database systems. The ideal candidate is highly technical, hands-on, and experienced with data plane services like Cassandra, ElasticSearch, and Kafka, as well as automation for large-scale cloud-based critical systems. What You'll Do

  • Maintain a deep understanding of data components, including Cassandra, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • Operate and automate properly configured clusters using this understanding.
  • Develop infrastructure services to support a full DevOps model for the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Customer Support to troubleshoot time-sensitive production issues.
  • Ensure the safety, security, and availability of petabytes of critical business data.

What You’ll Need

  • Configuration management experience (Chef or Salt) and/or strong Ruby experience.
  • Experience with large-scale datastores using technologies such as Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, and MySQL.
  • Experience with large-scale, business-critical Linux environments.
  • Experience operating within cloud environments, preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Proven ability to work effectively with both local and remote teams.
  • A track record of making sound decisions, especially under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A combination of confidence and independence, with the judgment to seek help when needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering).
  • This role may require periodic background and fingerprint checks for government customer requirements.
