Talent Development Functional Leader (14-Month Contract - Parental Leave)

Jobber is seeking a Talent Development Functional Leader to join our People department for a 14-month contract, covering parental leave.

The Team

The People team at Jobber is dedicated to building an environment where exceptional people can do amazing work. From recruitment to onboarding, performance, and throughout an employee's tenure, the People team supports success at every stage.

The Talent Development team, a part of the larger People department, focuses on equipping Jobberinos with the support and resources they need to maximize their performance and impact in their roles, thereby helping the people who help small businesses succeed.

Responsibilities

Strategic Talent Development Leadership

  • Own and evolve Jobber’s Talent Development strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities, performance goals, and future workforce needs.
  • Act as a trusted thought partner to business leaders, utilizing insight and performance data to shape impactful solutions and address root causes of performance issues.
  • Proactively partner with People Business Partners, senior leaders, and teams to co-create solutions that drive real performance impact.
  • Design holistic solutions (e.g., training, coaching, facilitation, org design, process improvements) that enhance performance and growth.

Company-Wide Learning & Performance Enablement

  • Oversee the end-to-end employee learning experience, including onboarding and functional skills training.
  • Partner with teams and leaders to ensure learning is applied to real work, not just isolated events.
  • Oversee Jobber’s coaching strategy, including individual coaching and building leadership coaching capabilities.
  • Lead the annual company-wide Professional Development Day, collaborating with Employee Experience to align with strategic priorities and reinforce a culture of connection and growth.
  • Facilitate high-impact learning experiences to embed practical skills and mindset shifts for all employees.

Leadership Development

  • Design, deliver, and facilitate leadership development pathways for new, emerging, and experienced People Leaders.
  • Ensure leadership programs build trust, clarity, and capability for high-performing teams.
  • Own the design and delivery of leadership development programs.
