Monte Carlo is seeking a dynamic Senior Sales Engineer to join its growing Sales Engineering team. This role is crucial to the sales engine, providing technical guidance and support to the sales team. The Senior Sales Engineer will be responsible for delivering compelling product demonstrations, successful proofs of concept, positioning the platform to diverse stakeholders, providing technical solutions, advocating for customer needs, and creating content to scale efforts. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and is passionate about solving customer problems, playing a key role in scaling a high-growth startup.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites (up to 25%) to deliver in-person engagements and build strong relationships.
  • Lead high-impact product demos tailored to customer challenges and priorities.
  • Drive the discovery process alongside Account Executives (AEs) to uncover technical requirements and business objectives.
  • Define technical requirements and use cases, ensuring alignment with customer desired outcomes.
  • Co-develop Business Value Assessments (BVAs) that showcase value, ROI, and strategic fit.
  • Present BVAs to executive stakeholders, articulating use cases, metrics, and business impact.
  • Embrace ambiguity and proactively find or build solutions when answers are not readily available.
  • Contribute to a high-performance team culture by setting ambitious goals and maintaining high standards.
  • Build and nurture technical champions within customer accounts to drive adoption and expansion.
  • Partner closely with sales to shape account strategy and accelerate revenue.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering for a technical product.
  • Firm understanding of data ecosystems, including cloud data warehousing, data lakes, ETL concepts and workflows, BI solutions, and SQL.
  • Demonstrated track record in an early-stage company or highly ambiguous environment.
  • High degree of ownership and a relentless desire to solve customer problems.
  • Technical acumen to understand and explain complex architectures.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, collaborate with different sales personnel, and support other SEs.
  • Strong technical foundation and customer-facing experience.
  • Ability to connect technical solutions to business value.
  • Self-starter mentality with comfort navigating ambiguity.
  • Team-first mindset with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
