Requirements

Candidates should possess a High School Diploma or GED, along with 2-4 years of Stop Loss group underwriting experience. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are required, as well as proficiency in PC applications including word processing and spreadsheet software. Excellent written and oral communication skills are also necessary. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

The Stop Loss Group Underwriter will evaluate risk for group insurance products, analyze data to determine benefits and rates, ensure proper pricing and funding methods, coordinate underwriting activities on proposals and amendments, develop and maintain relationships with field personnel and clients, explain and defend underwriting courses of action, and document decisions. They will also review cases exceeding the underwriter’s review level, contribute to total division profitability by analyzing client profitability, and perform other duties as assigned.
