Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Position Overview

Vantage is seeking a dedicated Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our tight-knit team of product and data engineers. In this role, you will be instrumental in shipping features across the Vantage product, ensuring our infrastructure and observability requirements are met to enable rapid scaling. You will also be responsible for maintaining best-in-class infrastructure, reliability, and availability for our platform. This is a fast-paced environment where the team constantly ships to production.

About Vantage

Vantage is a cloud cost visibility and optimization platform, also known as a FinOps platform. We empower companies of all sizes to manage their cloud infrastructure costs, serving everyone from individual developers to multiple Fortune 500 customers. Our co-founders are industry veterans with prior experience as infrastructure engineers and product managers at DigitalOcean and AWS. Vantage is an efficient and hard-working team of approximately 50 employees across the US, with a New York City center of gravity. We anticipate our team size will at least double by the end of 2025 as we enter our growth phase.

Our current customers include Square, Aflac, PBS, FanDuel, PlanetScale, Starburst, Vercel, and many more. Vantage has raised $25M in total venture capital, including a $21M Series A financing round in March 2023. Responsibilities

• Work directly with founders and engineers, collaborating on feature discovery, ideation, and delivery.
• Guide technical architecture decisions to support Vantage’s rapid growth.
• Take ownership of our production infrastructure, ensuring it is designed and operated to meet customer needs and cost efficiency.
• Write clean, testable, and peer-reviewed code.
• Partner with feature teams to ensure infrastructure and observability requirements are met.
• Ensure our infrastructure, reliability, and availability are best in class.

Requirements

• A passion for partnering with product teams to build features that delight customers.
• Strong technical background with 8+ years of experience building and operating SaaS products/platforms.
• Expertise in building and operating services at scale in Kubernetes.
• Expertise in cloud-hosted Network design and operations (e.g., VPC, Peering, subnet definitions, NAT configuration, etc.).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code frameworks such as Terraform, Terragrunt, or Pulumi.
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools, particularly Datadog.
• A desire to stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in the SRE and DevX ecosystem and integrate them into projects.
• Enthusiasm for making progress and holding a high degree of responsibility.
• A kind and collaborative demeanor.

Pay & Benefits

• Salary: $180,000 - $220,000 annually (This range may encompass several career levels and will be refined based on experience, qualifications, and location during the interview process).
