Position Overview

Dandy is revolutionizing the dental industry with technology, aiming to integrate and simplify every aspect of a dental practice. We are building the operating system for dental offices across America, empowering dentists with innovation and world-class support. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer II, Infrastructure to join our growing technology team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and building scalable infrastructure and systems to support our expanding product engineering functions.

About the Role

As a member of Dandy's Platform Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in the success of our team and company. You will design and build scalable infrastructure and systems to support our rapidly growing product engineering function.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain infrastructure, systems, and tooling to support Dandy’s products securely, with thorough testing, and high performance.
• Reinvent an analog experience and disrupt a legacy industry through novel and scalable system design.
• Collaborate with Product Engineers and other stakeholders within Engineering, Product, and Data to maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
• Advocate for improvements to infrastructure quality, security, and performance.
• Craft code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices.
• Identify and address inefficiencies ("technical debt") by proposing and implementing solutions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in a high-growth startup environment.
• Expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Strong observability/monitoring experience (e.g., Chronosphere, Sentry, DataDog, Splunk, Otel, Prometheus).
• A collaborative, pragmatic, and growth-oriented mindset. Alignment with team and company goals is essential.
• Ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex technical, architectural, and organizational problems and propose iterative solutions.
• Experience with performance and optimization problems, with a demonstrated ability to diagnose and prevent them.
• Comfort working in a highly agile, intensely iterative software development process.
• Self-motivated, self-managing, takes ownership, with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a remote-first organization.
