Requirements

Candidates must possess strong software engineering skills, with required proficiency in Go and TypeScript. A minimum of 3 years of experience in building and operating cloud infrastructure or distributed systems at scale is necessary. The role requires 5+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS compute, networking, and storage services, with GCP and Azure experience being a plus. Additionally, 3+ years of experience building custom Kubernetes controllers and operating large-scale clusters is essential. Familiarity with Postgres, experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Pulumi, and participation in on-call rotations for production systems are also required. Experience with QEMU, KVM, and NAS is considered a plus.

Responsibilities

The Platform Engineer will help build and maintain the Supabase Cloud offering by designing and implementing systems for provisioning, scaling, and managing multi-region compute workloads. Responsibilities include owning the full lifecycle of compute orchestration, improving automation and observability across the compute stack for high availability and performance, and refining system architecture to reduce costs while balancing security, reliability, and performance. The engineer will also collaborate cross-functionally, participate in on-call rotations, handle incident response and post-incident reviews, and resolve escalated support issues by identifying and addressing systemic problems.
