Candidates must possess over 10 years of experience in network engineering with a focus on internet and datacenter operations, and at least 4 years of experience in network automation. Advanced knowledge of scripting and coding in Java, Python, and Go is required, along with experience using network automation tools such as Ansible, Netmiko, Python, Go, and Terraform. A solid understanding and hands-on experience with key network technologies, including Juniper's Junos, Cisco IOS, Cumulus (Linux), and Rest API, are essential. Proficiency with CI/CD, Git, and Infrastructure as Code principles is necessary, as is familiarity with monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, Kentik, and Thousand Eyes. The ability to quickly learn new technologies in a fast-paced environment is crucial. Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIA are considered a plus. Developer-level experience with the ServiceNow Platform is desired.
The Staff Network Development Engineer will design and code new automations and on-platform optimizations, developing and maintaining network automation pipelines using tools like Ansible, Go, Python, Bash, and Terraform. They will collaborate with platform teams to enhance flow designer orchestration for unified network deployments globally. This role involves actively participating in the cloud networking team, handling proactive network deployment and orchestration, and driving the delivery of business-critical public cloud infrastructure worldwide. Responsibilities include ensuring network capacity meets business and technical requirements, operating and troubleshooting systems to resolve issues quickly, managing network augmentation as the organization grows, and taking a leadership role in root cause analysis and resolution of network issues. The engineer will also participate in a rotating on-call schedule and provide feedback and partnership to infrastructure architects on design improvements, contributing to the design process for new initiatives.
