Requirements

Candidates should possess 8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform teams, with at least 2 years in a Staff/Principal technical leadership role. Expertise is required in building and scaling cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP), designing multi-region, highly available systems, and managing Kubernetes at scale. Strong experience with data infrastructure like MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis, including horizontal scaling and sharding, is essential. Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), GitOps tooling (ArgoCD), and scripting languages (Python, Bash) is necessary. Experience with cloud-based systems, MongoDB, incident response, and technical leadership, including mentoring and strategy, is also required. Excellent communication skills are needed to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

The Staff DevOps Engineer will architect, build, and support scalable and highly reliable software systems that power Ada's platform growth. They will also shape the future of infrastructure strategy, raise engineering quality standards, and multiply the impact of the engineering organization. This role involves acting as a technical leader, setting direction on architecture, reliability, scalability, and developer experience, partnering across teams, ensuring technical alignment, and coaching other engineers to enhance operational excellence.
