Requirements

Candidates must possess at least 5 years of experience in automotive dealership Fixed Operations (Service, Parts, or Body Shop) or equivalent, along with 5+ years of experience training CDK products or comparable automotive retail technology platforms. Experience in training, instructional design, or learning development roles is required. A strong understanding of dealership management systems (DMS) related to Fixed Operations processes is essential. Excellent communication and presentation skills are necessary to translate technical concepts into digestible training materials. The ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment is also required. Experience with learning management systems (LMS), eLearning authoring tools, and multimedia content creation is a plus. A Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, Automotive Technology, or a related field is preferred. Strong project management skills and experience moderating internal forums are preferred.

Responsibilities

The Sr. Training & Development Specialist will serve as the Fixed Operations subject matter expert to create and maintain employee training programs aligned with dealership workflows and operational best practices. They will collaborate cross-functionally to assess training needs for new product launches and ongoing initiatives, contributing to internal enablement strategies by developing training content and resources. Responsibilities include designing engaging learning content such as eLearning modules, videos, manuals, job aids, and workshops tailored to technical, functional, and customer-centric skills. The role involves partnering with stakeholders to ensure training materials reflect up-to-date product features and dealership use cases, and supporting onboarding and continuous learning for internal employees. Additionally, the specialist will act as a community leader for Fixed Operations by fostering discussions, leading knowledge-sharing forums, and promoting a collaborative environment. They will deliver and enable training to drive sustained, customer-focused performance change, measure training effectiveness, and implement improvements based on feedback and business needs. Staying current with automotive industry trends and dealership operations is also a key responsibility. Travel up to 25% of the time is expected.
