Requirements

The IT Strategic Sourcing Manager must have experience developing sourcing strategies for the IT category and be recognized as a sourcing expert for Technology-related categories. Responsibilities include liaising with legal, acting as a Procurement ambassador, and integrating into the business to understand goals and develop sourcing strategies. Experience negotiating information technology contracts for software licensing, telecom, data center, and computer hardware/server products, along with related maintenance and support services, is essential. The role requires advising requestors on contract terms and conditions, monitoring contract costs and scope for compliance and best value, and validating/improving pricing. The ability to recommend cost-saving proposals, including alternative sourcing, and exercise independent judgment within defined practices and procedures is necessary. Experience developing, managing, and executing strategies for the IT Category, conducting RFPs, and leading cross-functional teams through supplier selection processes with effective scoring criteria is required. The candidate must collaborate with IT/Legal stakeholders to assess and prioritize business needs and conduct spend/contract/proposal analysis for IT services. Experience in category management, including developing and implementing category strategies and tactics to procure technology products and services at the highest value benefit, is also needed.

Responsibilities

Develop, manage, and execute sourcing strategies for the IT Category. Conduct RFPs and lead cross-functional teams through the supplier selection process using effective scoring criteria to evaluate supplier proposals in accordance with company policies. Collaborate with IT and Legal stakeholders to assess, understand, and prioritize business needs to optimize value with Western Digital's supply base. Conduct spend, contract, and proposal analysis for the supply of software licensing, computer hardware, servers, data center, and telecom services, and present recommendations to Procurement and IT leadership. Lead negotiations on commercial procurement agreements, including Master Agreements (MSA's), Statements of Work (SOW's), and Change Orders (CO's), balancing business deliverables, legal interests, and pricing. Analyze total costs, assist business functions with ROI analysis, price and rate benchmarking, and negotiate favorable business terms to leverage Western Digital's purchasing power. Research market intelligence to understand cost drivers and market trends. Develop, refine, and implement category strategies and tactics that enable the procurement of technology products and services at the highest value benefit to the company. Cultivate and enhance relationships with key technology suppliers.
