Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field (advanced degree such as MSc or PhD preferred)
  • Experience in the Pharma or Biotech industry strongly preferred
  • 5 years of demonstrated ability in one or more of: Laboratory Automation, Synthetic Biology, NGS, CRISPR, Molecular Diagnostics, Cell Culture, Bio-banking, Antibody/T-Cell Screening, or similar
  • Hands-on experience with integrated automated systems
  • Previous direct customer interaction preferred
  • Clear communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to establish and manage relationships with colleagues, customers, and vendors
  • Keen understanding of laboratory instrumentation with hands-on experience
  • Ability to assimilate and apply new skills, knowledge, and software proficiencies
  • Continual learner with a proven growth mindset
  • Technical documentation and writing skills
  • Ability to work within a diverse, global team
  • Valid driver’s license and valid passport with ability to undertake global travel (up to 25%)

Responsibilities

  • Engage directly with customers and local sales teams to understand scientific applications and technical automation requirements
  • Craft technically accurate automation solutions using Thermo Fisher Scientific collaborative robotic movers, software, and 3rd party instruments
  • Generate efficiency analyses with, and deliver demonstrations of, Momentum scheduling software
  • Contribute to quotations, proposal content, and any other supporting documentation to exceed customers’ requirements and expectations
  • Act as a liaison between technical groups (Marketing, Operations, Software, Engineering, R&D) and Global Sales channels
  • Work with Operations team to facilitate a flawless transition from pre- to post-sale to ensure an outstanding customer experience
  • Support the pre-sales process for global customers from the Burlington, Ontario site (hybrid role)
