Sr. Appian Platform Engineer
Position Overview
Pacific Life is seeking a talented Sr. Appian Platform Engineer to join our Technology team. This role is crucial for providing critical support for the Enterprise Appian Platform within Pacific Life. You will leverage your technical expertise and deep understanding of the Appian Platform to apply industry standards, protocols, technologies, best practices, and commonly used enterprise systems to innovate our business and create a superior customer experience. This position can be on-site hybrid or remote.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance and guidance for Value Stream, Platform, and Vendor Teams, acting as an internal system expert.
- Monitor Appian Platform Health Checks, handle network needs for setup and monitoring, and serve as the primary point of contact during Appian outages.
- Partner with IT and functional areas to develop simple, effective, and innovative solutions to streamline workflow processes.
- Assist with the creation and review of programming documentation and recommend changes in development, maintenance, and application standards.
- Contribute to architecture design, review, and management of technical risks and trade-offs for Appian Applications.
- Perform process development and testing/debugging, utilizing best practices to ensure minimal maintenance.
- Develop new applications and application enhancements in Appian.
- Meet regularly with Appian Support to discuss platform issues and platform updates/upgrades.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience designing and maintaining Appian BPM Applications.
- Software development experience (e.g., .NET, Java, Visual Basic, C#).
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and UI/UX design.
- Knowledge of web application architecture/design fundamentals.
- Experience with Appian Admin console and administration of application servers is helpful.
- Deep experience with Appian Integrations and Appian Plug-Ins.
- Familiarity with MS-SQL or equivalent database systems.
- Experience working in an Agile team environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
What Will Make You Stand Out
- Appian Level 1, 2, and/or 3 Certification.
- Advanced knowledge and experience in Appian, BPM, or other Workflow Development experience.
- Knowledge of Appian development, UI design, defining custom data types, and process design.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with Azure DevOps, ADO pipelines, and AWS.
