Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Climate Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field OR 6+ years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree
  • Deep expertise in climate risk assessment methodologies and frameworks (TCFD strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience managing corporate sustainability reporting and a strong understanding of leading ESG standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards)
  • Proven ability in data analysis and translating complex information into clear, actionable insights for a business audience
  • Experience designing (incomplete in description, but implied as relevant to climate/sustainability strategies)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the management of physical and transitional climate-related risks and opportunities across Gilead's operations, value chain, and portfolio in alignment with frameworks such as TCFD
  • Develop, champion, and implement a long-term climate adaptation and resilience strategy to mitigate identified risks, protect assets and supply chain, and support communities
  • Support the end-to-end process for corporate sustainability reporting, ensuring adherence with evolving global disclosure standards and regulations (e.g., CSRD, California climate laws, CDP)
  • Enhance and maintain a centralized, auditable system for managing all sustainability-related policies, procedures, data, and compliance documentation, ensuring data integrity and version control
  • Perform in-depth analysis of climate and sustainability data to generate actionable insights, track performance against targets, identify emerging trends, and inform strategic planning; prepare and present findings to stakeholders
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on climate risk, partnering closely with teams including Enterprise Risk Management, Finance, Legal, and Supply Chain to embed climate considerations into business strategy and processes
