Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, with a preference for Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years experience managing engineering teams
  • 15+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the medical device space
  • Strong understanding of project and daily program management
  • Proven ability to develop and implement engineering solutions
  • Strong understanding of New Product Development (NPD) processes and challenges
  • Outstanding leadership and mentoring abilities
  • Process Validation expertise in the Medical Device industry
  • Outstanding project management and organizational capabilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Six Sigma Variation Reduction experience a plus
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, adhering strictly to safety protocols, GMP, Cleanroom standards, and PPE requirements (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.). Occasional lifting and physical activity may be required

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day engineering activities and ensure projects progress on time
  • Mentor and develop engineers to achieve their fullest potential
  • Support manufacturing process development and capacity expansion as volumes grow
  • Assess and improve validation approach to enable leverage across like products and processes
  • Lead the Systems Engineering group focused on mechanical engineering
  • Develop mechanical and systems engineering competencies within the team
  • Lead all aspects of team goals, performance evaluations, and talent acquisition
  • Refine approach to new equipment acquisition and deployment, manufacturing process improvement, problem solving and solutioning
  • Leverage and scale the validation program
