Requirements

  • Expertise in programming and applying software engineering patterns to build robust and scalable systems
  • Ability to design and implement architecture independently while influencing fellow engineers through proposals, feedback on designs, and implementation
  • Strong problem-solving skills for triaging operational issues and eliminating repeat occurrences
  • Technology acumen to apply and maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies in networking (traditional networking, SD-WAN, Backbone WAN)
  • Experience with automation and reliability in large-scale network environments (2000+ locations)
  • Skills in a mix of traditional networking and software development to improve user experience

Responsibilities

  • Build, run, and automate the Backbone Network used by Team Members and Guests daily
  • Deploy new technologies to the field and improve user experience on the network
  • Ensure smooth operations of the existing network
  • Design, support, and automate the Backbone WAN from edge to centralized data centers
  • Participate in the transition from legacy platform to modern SD-WAN platform
  • Apply and maintain knowledge of current/emerging technologies; evaluate new technologies considering viability, maintainability, and cost
  • Initiate and execute research and proof-of-concept activities for new technologies
  • Manage total product, financials, and forecasting
  • Lead design, lifecycle management, and total cost of ownership of services
  • Lead code review, design review, testing, and debugging at the application level
  • Lead functional design and architecture discussions with understanding of process flows and system diagrams
  • Participate in routine and non-routine construction activities
