Position Overview

The Commercial Account Executive will be responsible for generating new business sales revenue from software licenses within customers in the Greater Chicago Metro area, specifically targeting companies with 1,000 to 5,000 employees. This role involves territory planning, prospect research, business development, and sales activities within an assigned territory.


Responsibilities

  • Build relationships within Mid-Market clients.
  • Achieve quarterly and annual sales quotas for an assigned territory.
  • Develop and execute a sales strategy for the allocated territory, including a target prospect list and regional sales plan.
  • Partner with the marketing team to initiate marketing plans to drive growth.
  • Qualify prospects and develop new sales opportunities and ongoing revenue streams.
  • Arrange and conduct initial product demonstrations and presentations.
  • Manage ongoing account relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and identify additional revenue opportunities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers by understanding their business and advising on how ServiceNow can support their IT roadmap.

Requirements

  • Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This includes using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Commercial Account Executive (or equivalent) role within the IT industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed support organization with multiple virtual specialists.
  • Experience in executive-level relationship management.
  • Ability to provide transparency in the sales process with excellent CRM hygiene.
  • Must reside in the Greater Chicago Metro area.

Travel

  • 20-40% travel, potentially up to 50% in some cases.

Compensation and Benefits

  • On-Target Earnings (OTE): Competitive incentive compensation structure for sales positions.
  • Base Pay: $111,750 - $184,400 (This is a guideline; individual compensation will vary based on qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location).
  • Additional Compensation: Equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation.

  • Compensation is location-based and subject to change.
