This role is for the Molecular division of Abbott, a global healthcare leader in molecular diagnostics and analysis of DNA, RNA, and proteins. The successful candidate will work in the field within the Quebec region.

Responsibilities

  • Perform emergency repairs, preventive maintenance, installations, and product updates for clients.
  • Provide comprehensive support to the sales department, including repair and maintenance of demonstration equipment.
  • Implement technical modifications and updates at client sites.
  • Adhere to operational procedures.
  • Manage assigned spare parts according to appropriate stock levels.
  • Manage kits and individual spare part inventories.
  • Prepare detailed documentation for each service call using a dedicated laptop.
  • Complete service documents and reports (service notices, expense reports, inventory records, contract follow-ups, etc.) in accordance with Abbott policies and procedures.
  • Provide on-site training to clients on the proper use of Abbott instruments, as needed.
  • Renew service agreements with clients and present proposals.
  • Sell Abbott consumables.
  • Troubleshoot instrument system issues via phone support, log file analysis, or on-site client visits.
  • Offer phone support for French-speaking clients in Quebec, if necessary.
  • Recommend performance improvement strategies for the territory.
  • Communicate with sales representatives regarding concerns or recommendations.
  • Establish a strategy to achieve service excellence in line with Abbott Molecular guidelines.

Requirements

  • College diploma (Diplôme d'études collégiales).
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Willingness to work overtime and travel unexpectedly, as needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry a laptop, service tools, testing equipment, and spare parts/warranty kits.
  • Ability to lift and move Abbott instruments during installation or routine service visits.
  • Ability to undertake long trips, including air travel.
  • Excellent communication skills.
