Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as engineering, materials science, or chemistry. They should have demonstrated success in managing complex and uncertain projects, the ability to work independently and lead cross-functional initiatives, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Prior experience in nuclear, oil & gas, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, or defense, as well as experience with nuclear facilities, materials, or the DOE/national laboratories, are considered bonus qualifications. A nuclear background is strongly preferred, and candidates should possess practical technical acumen, organizational and communication skills, and robust EQ.
The Special Projects Manager will lead and coordinate high-impact, cross-functional projects related to nuclear reactor system development, permitting, and deployment. This role involves serving as both a project deployment contributor and an integrator, collaborating across disciplines to drive results. Responsibilities include leading strategic special projects in radioisotope facility permitting and deployment, coordinating external collaborations with contractors, suppliers, and government stakeholders, and working cross-functionally to align deliverables and schedules. The manager will proactively plan work, manage timelines, identify and resolve issues, contribute to technical strategy and execution plans, and complete or matrix tasks to achieve mission objectives.
