Candidates must possess an active architectural license in Florida and Alabama. Proven experience in school conversion projects and a strong understanding of educational facility design are required. In-depth knowledge of local building codes, fire codes, ADA, zoning regulations, and permitting processes in FL/AL is essential. Proficiency in architectural design software such as AutoCAD or Revit and project management tools is necessary, along with excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively is also required.
The Architectural Project Manager will conduct initial code analysis and perform test fits to assess project feasibility and compliance. They will create detailed plans for project design, ensuring alignment with local codes and regulations, and manage plan production for existing portfolio projects. This role involves overseeing permit management processes, managing third parties like civil engineers and fire life safety specialists, and leveraging local relationships to streamline permitting. Additionally, the manager will identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering and cultivate strong relationships with local stakeholders, including permitting agencies, contractors, and consultants, to facilitate project success.
