Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Business Management, Marketing or a related field required
5+ years of previous experience in water/wastewater industry desired; significant experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint preferred
Advanced proficiency with CSM System preferred; basic proficiency required
Experience with regulatory reporting and procedures preferred
Ability to communicate, present and influence credibly required
Detailed technical knowledge and understanding (or the ability to obtain) of Badger Meter’s full product line
Ideal candidate based in Florida/Georgia; up to 50% travel required; covers Southeast market

Responsibilities

Provide pre-sales support for field sales and distribution efforts across Badger Meter Water Quality product line, including technical training and assistance
Provide Bid/RFP response information and system pre-installation planning with customers
Participate in technical seminars, represent Badger Meter at trade shows, lunch and learns, and industry shows
Conduct special sales support projects and activities as required
Provide post-sales field support as needed
Provide pre-sales technical assistance such as solution/system design
Remain proficient and up to date in instruments and system technology, including software for Badger Meter products and competitors
Assist with presentations to key prospects, target accounts, and customers
Influence and respond to customer and prospect inquiries, RFP/Bid requests, and questions in a timely manner
Act as a mentor to peers and inside sales representatives to deepen understanding of products, processes, and efficiencies; potential subject matter expert on a product family
Stay abreast of and communicate competitor changes, new strategies, pricing, new products, or changes in existing products to sales and marketing
Conduct all activity in compliance with governmental requirements for Badger Meter products
Assist in training new internal and external sales representatives
