Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and have 3-5 years of experience in server administration or a similar role. They should demonstrate strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments, along with experience utilizing virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V, and familiarity with scripting languages like PowerShell or Bash for automation tasks.
The Server Administrator will be responsible for installing, configuring, and managing servers and related systems in a virtualized environment, monitoring server performance and availability while implementing necessary optimizations, performing routine system updates, patches, and backups to ensure data integrity and security, troubleshooting server issues and providing timely resolutions to minimize downtime, developing and maintaining documentation related to server configurations, processes, and procedures, collaborating with network engineers and IT support personnel to troubleshoot and resolve cross-functional issues, implementing and enforcing security policies to protect server environments, and staying informed on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and security threats.
