Requirements

The ideal candidate possesses 5-8 years of IT infrastructure experience with a strong focus on enterprise monitoring, including a minimum of 3-5 years of deep, hands-on experience designing, implementing, and administering Zabbix in a large-scale, mission-critical environment. Strong Linux administration skills (RHEL/CentOS, Debian/Ubuntu) including system performance tuning and troubleshooting are required, as are demonstrable skills in Python or Shell for creating custom monitoring checks and automation tasks. Proven experience using Ansible, Puppet, or a similar configuration management tool for infrastructure automation and foundational database skills are also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Senior Zabbix Administrator will design and deploy a highly available and scalable Zabbix architecture, create and customize advanced Zabbix templates for a diverse technology stack, and spearhead the migration of over 2000+ hosts and 10000+ services from a legacy monitoring environment to Zabbix. Responsibilities include developing custom monitoring scripts using Python and/or Shell, utilizing Ansible or Puppet to automate Zabbix agent deployment and management, and building insightful monitoring dashboards and reports in Grafana. The role also involves performing essential administration, performance tuning, and maintenance for the Zabbix backend database, acting as the in-house Zabbix expert to train and mentor team members, and establishing clear documentation for monitoring standards, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
