The candidate must have at least 5 years of life science capital sales experience, with demonstrable experience working with key clinical and research accounts and customers in Kansas and Nebraska. A strong understanding of next-generation sequencing (NGS) and genotyping is foundational, along with knowledge of clinical and research applied genetics and genomics. Proven success in consultative and strategic selling, lead generation, prospecting, business development, and managing complex sales within multi-layered environments is required. The candidate should also possess strong motivation, a drive for results, the ability to work in a fast-paced, adaptable environment, and experience in building long-term customer relationships.
The Senior Territory Account Manager is responsible for achieving territory sales objectives and growth targets by developing and implementing sales plans, accurately forecasting sales projections, and managing the sales pipeline. This role involves proactively engaging with customers to provide consultations on Illumina's product portfolio, delivering technical and scientific presentations, and identifying new opportunities by monitoring market trends and customer needs. The position requires effective cross-functional collaboration, managing a multi-tiered sales process for capital equipment, consumables, and services, and matching customer business objectives to Illumina's capabilities. Additionally, the role includes prospecting for new leads, actively managing existing accounts, expanding the customer base, and continuously learning about new applications and growth opportunities for Illumina's technology.
