Senior Sales Representative - Mid-Atlantic Region

Position Overview

Element Biosciences is seeking an experienced Senior Sales Representative to join our team and drive revenue growth in the Mid-Atlantic region. This role is crucial for executing strategies to acquire new customers and expand existing accounts, ensuring we meet and exceed revenue targets. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong desire to succeed and build lasting customer relationships, possessing a solid background in NGS sample and library prep workflows, and cell biology. This is a remote position, requiring the successful candidate to be located within the Mid-Atlantic territory and travel frequently to customer sites.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong understanding of Element technology.
  • Establish and execute strategies for acquiring new customers and maintaining/growing existing customer accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals.
  • Employ an analytical approach to implement optimal solutions for issues or opportunities.
  • Present versatile and unique solutions during customer negotiations to establish mutually beneficial circumstances.
  • Learn from each experience to improve effectiveness in subsequent sales scenarios.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment to drive and create revenue opportunities.
  • Manage customer relationships post-sale, developing a strategy for long-term business partnerships.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required (preferably in Biology/Genetics). Master's degree or Ph.D. in Biology/Genetics preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 6+ years of commercial (sales/marketing/business development) experience or equivalent laboratory setting experience with customer-facing responsibilities.
    • Capital equipment sales experience required.
    • Proven ability to sell sophisticated, high-throughput instrument platforms and associated consumables in a highly technical environment.
    • Strong foundation in Genetics and Molecular Biology.
    • Preferred knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing and Genotyping methods.
    • Deep knowledge and established relationships with decision-makers/influencers and leading researchers in the sequencing and spatial biology community.
    • Experience with strategic sales skills and a proven ability to develop and grow key accounts is preferred.
    • Ability to conduct presentations effectively, professionally, and comfortably to customers, peers, and management.
    • Strong desire to "win" and build customer relationships.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Location

  • Remote – Mid-Atlantic region

Travel

  • Domestic travel up to 50% or as needed.

Employment Type

  • Full-time, Exempt

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base Compensation Pay Range: $140,000 - $150,000 (dependent on factors including geographic location, qualifications, and experience).
  • Additional Benefits: Eligible for stock options, sales commission, no-cost health insurance plans, 401k with company match, and flexible paid time off.
