Program Manager
SonicWallFull Time
Mid-level (3 to 4 years)
Candidates should have experience supporting initiatives related to VA.gov or other high-profile websites, and experience with digitized forms for Veteran benefits and services. The role requires acting as a primary customer point of contact, providing status updates to multiple teams, identifying and raising risks, managing cross-team dependencies, and ensuring teams have necessary context. Experience as a "two-way adapter" between agile delivery teams and traditional project management processes, including project plans and Gantt charts, is essential. The ideal candidate is deeply tuned into team progress, can articulate risks and blockers in the client's preferred format, and can communicate stakeholder priorities and technical direction back to the team. A passion for working on important problems with a lasting impact on millions of users and making a difference in government is crucial. This is a short-term contract expected to end March 2026.
The Senior Program Manager will act as the primary customer point of contact for the contract, providing status updates to stakeholders for multiple teams and work streams. They will identify and raise significant risks, impediments, and trade-off decisions, manage cross-team dependencies, and ensure all teams have the context they need to deliver effectively. The Program Manager will act as an adapter between Agile Six’s agile delivery teams and the VA's lightweight traditional project management processes, including project plans and high-level Gantt charts. They will make regular updates to a risk register and review it with delivery teams and VA stakeholders, contribute to the coordination of multiple interdependent workstreams, and ensure delivery teams are adequately staffed. The role involves establishing strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders, fostering an exceptional first impression of Agile Six’s culture and delivery effectiveness, and working with teams to ensure they are creating and regularly reviewing team working agreements and norming documents. The Program Manager will communicate clearly, honestly, and effectively with team members and stakeholders, work with delivery teams to fulfill all reporting and contractual requirements, and establish feedback loops to ensure teams are aligned, responsive to input, and continuously improving delivery. They will proactively identify and remove impediments or guide the team to remove them, addressing complex challenges with minimal guidance, and help the team maintain an effective and sustainable pace of delivery within a complex environment. Support for the practice of delivery within the larger company may also be required.
