Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Risk Management and Insurance, or a related field, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 13 years of experience in Underwriting or a related field is required, along with prior experience overseeing and managing a Managing General Agent (MGA) for an insurance carrier. Public Sector experience is preferred, and the ability to travel 3-5 times per year for agency visits and audits is necessary.
The Program Manager/Senior Underwriter will market, evaluate, and price products and services for program business within Public Sectors target classes. This role involves overseeing and managing relationships with MGUs/MGAs/Program Administrators, leading the development of underwriting guidelines and Letters of Authority, and partnering with key support units to analyze issues and drive execution. The individual will perform audits, conduct program reviews, identify and manage portfolio-level risks, and serve as the primary contact for direct insurance programs. Responsibilities also include driving the implementation of new and existing programs and building relationships with support units, brokers, and reinsurers.
