Mozilla Corporation is a non-profit-backed technology company that has shaped the internet for the better over the last 25 years. We make pioneering brands like Firefox, the privacy-minded web browser. With more than 225 million people around the world using our products each month, we’re shaping the next 25 years of technology and helping to reclaim an internet built for people, not companies. Our work focuses on diverse areas including AI, social media, security, and more. We remain focused on our core mission – to make the internet better for people.
The Mozilla Corporation is wholly owned by the non-profit 501(c) Mozilla Foundation. This means we aren’t beholden to any shareholders — only to our mission. Along with thousands of volunteer contributors and collaborators worldwide, Mozillians design, build, and distribute open-source software that enables people to enjoy the internet on their terms.
This role is responsible for leading North America payroll operations, processing semi-monthly payroll for approximately 800 U.S. and Canadian employees while ensuring compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local regulations. The Senior Payroll Analyst will ensure accurate and timely payroll cycles, compliance with tax laws and company policies, and provide reporting and analysis to support business needs. This role will also play a key part in process improvements and cross-functional initiatives.
Not-for-profit organization promoting internet health
Mozilla operates as a not-for-profit organization focused on promoting an open and accessible internet. Its main product is the Firefox browser, which emphasizes user privacy and security. Mozilla generates revenue through partnerships and search engine royalties, allowing it to reinvest in projects that enhance internet health rather than distributing profits to shareholders. This commitment to user empowerment and ethical practices sets Mozilla apart from traditional for-profit tech companies. Additionally, Mozilla engages in advocacy and educational initiatives through the Mozilla Foundation, supporting open-source projects and internet literacy programs. The goal of Mozilla is to create a better internet for everyone by prioritizing user-centric products and fostering a healthier online ecosystem.
