Requirements
Candidates should possess at least 3 years of U.S. payroll experience, preferably in a multi-state environment, and require hands-on experience with Workday Payroll. Familiarity with OneSource Virtual (OSV) payroll tax services, including tax filing and amendment processes is preferred. A solid understanding of U.S. payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and pre/post-tax deductions is also necessary. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is required, and experience supporting Workday payroll implementations or enhancements is a plus. Exposure to international payrolls or coordination with global payroll providers is considered a beneficial asset.
Responsibilities
The Payroll Specialist will process biweekly and/or semi-monthly U.S. payrolls in Workday, including validation, auditing, and reconciliation of payroll data. They will partner with OSV to coordinate payroll tax filings, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate federal, state, and local tax submissions. The role involves reviewing Workday-generated payroll reports, maintaining and auditing employee records, pay elements, and tax setups in Workday, and responding to employee inquiries related to payroll. Additionally, the specialist will support year-end activities including W-2 review, balancing, and reconciliation, monitor payroll tickets and tax notices, and assist with payroll-related projects such as system testing and process documentation. Finally, they will stay current with changes in payroll laws and regulations, ensuring alignment with internal controls and best practices.
