About the Team and Role

This role directly manages the North America payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely semi-monthly payroll processing for around 800 U.S. and Canadian employees. Key responsibilities include maintaining compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local tax laws and company policies, providing essential reporting and analysis, and contributing to process improvements and cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for U.S. and Canadian employees (~800 employees), ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance on a semi-monthly basis.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state/provincial, and local payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.
• Resolve payroll issues by collaborating effectively with internal and external partners.
• Partner with People Operations, Benefits, and external vendors to ensure accurate benefit deductions and payroll-related transactions.
• Act as a subject matter expert on payroll best practices, laws, and system capabilities, identifying opportunities for standardization and scaling of payroll processes.
• Assist with year-end activities, including W-2s, T4s, tax filings, and audits.
• Mentor and guide the Payroll Administrator.

Requirements

• Education: BA/BS in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience:
  • 7+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably with U.S. and Canadian payrolls.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state/provincial payroll tax regulations.
  • Experience with payroll systems; ADP Workforce Now experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments.
• Skills:
  • Strong customer service focus with effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
• Preferred Designation: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent.
