About This Team and Role

The Senior Payroll Analyst will manage end-to-end payroll processing for U.S. and Canadian employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements. This role involves resolving payroll issues, collaborating with internal teams and external partners, and acting as a subject matter expert for payroll best practices and system capabilities. The Senior Payroll Analyst will also support year-end activities, audits, and mentor the Payroll Administrator.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for U.S. and Canadian employees (~800 employees) on a semi-monthly basis.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Own payroll issue resolution, collaborating effectively with internal and external partners.
  • Partner with People Operations, Benefits, and external vendors for accurate benefit deductions and payroll transactions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on payroll best practices, laws, and system capabilities, identifying opportunities for standardization and scaling of processes.
  • Assist with year-end activities, including W-2s, T4s, tax filings, and audits.
  • Mentor and guide the Payroll Administrator.

Requirements

  • Education:
    • BA/BS in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience:
    • 7+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably across U.S. and Canadian payrolls.
    • Strong knowledge of federal and state/provincial payroll tax regulations.
    • Experience with payroll systems; ADP Workforce Now experience is strongly preferred.
    • Experience working in cross-functional environments.
  • Skills:
    • Strong customer service focus with effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
    • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
    • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • Certifications (Plus):
    • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent designation.
