Team/Department Description

The Sr. Manager, Reimbursement and Patient Support, reports to the Sr. Director Reimbursement and Patient Support. This role is responsible for executing patient access and reimbursement strategies across multiple therapeutic areas. The individual will act as a problem solver, collaborating to remove access and affordability hurdles for patients using Azurity products by partnering with internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include ensuring understanding of reimbursement processes, co-pay and affordability solutions, Patient Assistance Programs (PAP)/Free Goods programs, field reimbursement services, and patient support services.

The Sr. Manager will manage day-to-day patient access and support operations, oversee assigned vendors, ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met or exceeded, anticipate/identify/resolve/monitor operational challenges, oversee accurate and timely reporting, monitor program budgets, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The role involves regular interaction with brand teams and other internal functions such as finance, legal, safety, quality, and training.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Independently lead day-to-day operations of assigned patient access and affordability programs, ensuring smooth operations in accordance with business rules and all safety, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the execution of affordability strategies in alignment with brand strategic imperatives and financial goals.
  • Manage the implementation and ongoing operations of co-pay, PAP, and cash programs, identifying opportunities for program enhancements and optimization.
  • Manage assigned vendor relationships, acting as the vendor account manager to anticipate and address program challenges, and working closely with vendors to track and meet or exceed all program KPIs.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of key data. Develop, distribute, and present summary reports to key colleagues regularly.
  • Lead regular business reviews in partnership with stakeholders to present program trends.
  • Manage the resolution of customer issues.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales to ensure pull-through of Patient Affordability solutions.
  • Stay informed about evolving market dynamics and industry trends for pharmacy and medical benefit products to adapt co-pay programs and other patient affordability solutions as needed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Education: BA/BS degree.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in designing and executing patient affordability programs within pharmaceutical manufacturing, with an emphasis on PAP, co-pay, and cash programs.
  • Skills: Ability to prioritize and manage a high volume and velocity of workload and projects.
