Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sciences, nursing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. They must also have a minimum of 3 years of experience involving coverage policies, procedures, and regulations, including but not limited to Clinical and AdvaMed Code of Ethics on Interactions with Health Care Professionals. Experience with US reimbursement coding, Diagnostic procedures, and Medicare Coverage Analysis is required.

Responsibilities

The Principal Specialist, Clinical Contracts & Reimbursement will perform protocol and budget reviews, including Medicare Coverage Analysis, to provide guidance regarding clinical trial reimbursement for Abbott clinical trials. They will support site negotiations of Clinical trial agreements (CTA), budgets, and site-specific informed consent forms, ensuring adherence to company standards and compliance. The role involves collaborating with internal teams to develop recommendations regarding clinical trial reimbursement issues, reviewing protocol for CPT/DRG codes, addressing site budget response changes, and serving as a single point of contact for HE&R escalations. Furthermore, this position requires determining priorities, defining work procedures, and utilizing the correct CPT codes for protocol-required tests and procedures during budget development, ultimately providing recommendations for the best reimbursement strategy and impact on enrollment.
